A GERMAN WORLD WAR TWO OFFICER QUALITY TROPICAL SUN HELMET,
dated for 1942 and probably a private purchase item, with pale olive green one-piece felt crown and brim, the brim edged in grey-green leather (some losses), felt outer band, applied national insignia and separate screw mounted top-vent, complete with an inner leather sweat-band initialled 'J.H.S.', red felt lining and grey-green leather chinstrap.
