A 12-BORE 'ROYAL' SIDELOCK EJECTOR, serial no. 23503,
28in. replacement nitro chopperlump barrels (by another in 1992), the rib engraved 'HOLLAND & HOLLAND (faint), and with acanthus scroll detailing at the breech-end, 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 choke in both, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, fences carved with shell motifs, gold-inlaid cocking-indicators, best bold scroll engraving with beaded borders and floral work, brushed bright and re-blued finish overall, 14 1/2in. well-figured replacement stock (small setting cracks to rear of lockplates), weight 6lb. 6oz., in a lightweight leather case with Holland & Holland trade label and some accessories.
Provenance: The makers have kindly confirmed that this gun was completed in April 1904 for a 'Page'. It was made to match a pair of guns numbered 16562 / 3.
