circa 1850, with blued wedge retained octagonal 4 3/8in. barrel, the top-flat signed 'OWEN POWELL SHEFFIELD', band of engraving and bead fore-sight at muzzle, scroll engraving to top of barrel throat, engraved rounded half-strap with notch rear-sight, plain six-shot cylinder with numbered chambers and engraved band to leading edge, borderline and scroll engraved frame with spur-less hammer, chequered walnut grips, engraved grip-straps and pommel-cap, guarded self-cocking trigger and under-barrel plunge ejector, the whole retaining strong traces of finish and complete with its mahogany storage case, the interior with shaped compartment for the revolver and lined in green baize, complete with a period cap tin, flask, oil-bottle and mould
