AN 18-BORE FLINTLOCK MAN-STOPPER PISTOL WITH SPRUNG BAYONET, no visible serial number,
circa 1805, with Birmingham proved octagonal 5in. barrel, the top-flat signed 'MANCHESTER' and mounted with a concave form triangular sprung bayonet released by a catch on the top-tang, slightly curved flat-sided bevel-edged step-tailed lock signed 'CONWAY', sliding safe behind the hammer, roller-frizzen, walnut full-stock with chequered bag-shaped butt (heavily bruised along back edge), iron furniture and probable replacement brass-tipped rammer
