LONDON', small screw inset near top-edge of lock surrounded by the word 'PATENT' and '3208', fully engraved slab-sided hammer with sliding safe behind, moulded rainproof pan, border engraved roller frizzen signed 'S. SMITH 3208 PATENT', walnut half-stock with raised cheek-piece chequered at the wrist, iron furniture including heel-plate with engraved top-spur, flat-fronted trigger-guard bow with raised scrolled-grip tang and stylised pineapple finial, white-metal fore-end cap and brass-mounted ebony ramrod
