A SILVER-MOUNTED CONTINENTAL HUNTING SWORD WITH WATERED BLADE,
circa 1700, probably Northern German or Polish, with straight single edged broad fullered finely watered 21 1/4in. blade (some patches of corrosion), deep symmetrical unmarked silver cross-guard with turned down drum quillions and embossed borderline decoration, integral banded grip-mount, silver front and back-straps with moulded horn grip and four oval silver plain escutcheons, flat pommelled grip cap integral with the back-strap and initialled 'T.S.', the lower quillion and pommel beak originally with provision for a chain guard now absent, no scabbard
