A RARE BOXED 4.4mm (BB) SIDE-LEVER AIR-POWERED TRAINING UNIT FOR A K31 RIFLE, serial no. 2538
circa 1950, with 14 1/2in. brass barrel, blued air-chamber with integral six-shot magazine with rotating cover, the body of the device marked 'HAMMERLI TRAINER MOD K31', 'PATENT' ('Hammerli Trainer' with gilt infill) and the serial number (some scratches to finish), side-lever cocking with bakelite toggle in imitation of the rifle together with its blued top-clamp and complete in its maker's blue card carton with paste-board insert, a partial tin of Hammerli BBs, instructions and warning leaflet (German language)
