27in. nitro replacement barrels (circa 1975), rib gold-inlaid '1' the the breech end, tubes engraved 'HOLLAND & HOLLAND. 13. BRUTON STREET. LONDON.', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. and 1/2 choke, toplever gold-inlaid '1', automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, gold-inlaid cocking-indicators, left mainspring missing, best bold Royal scroll engraving, the underside with cartouches engraved 'ROYAL HAMMERLESS EJECTOR' and 'PATENT SINGLE TRIGGER', brushed finish overall, 14 1/8in. figured stock cast and swept for central vision (furniture and lockplates also swept), weight 6lb. 4oz.
Provenance: The makers have kindly confirmed that this gun was completed in August 1903 for a "Johnstone"
