28in. replacement nitro barrels (circa 1973), ribs engraved 'WILLIAM EVANS, 67A, ST. JAMES'S STREET, LONDON', and gold-inlaid '1' and '2' at the breech ends, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 3/4 choke, treble-grip actions with removable striker discs, carved stylised acanthus leaf fences, toplevers gold-inlaid '1' and '2', automatic safeties with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' details, fine floral bouquet and acanthus scroll engraving, brushed bright finish, 15in. figured stocks (No.1 a replacement) including 1in. leather covered recoil pads, weight 6lb. 11oz., in their brass-cornered leather case

Provenance: The makers have kindly confirmed that the guns were completed as 'Best Quality 12CF top snap screw grip side lock h'less ejector guns with 30" steel barrels' on October 9th 1903 for a C. Clifton
