A FINE PAIR OF 12-BORE 1887 PATENT 'ROUND ACTION' TRIGGERPLATE-ACTION EJECTORS, serial no. 6805 / 6,
29in. nitro chopperlump barrels, (No.2 London reproved in 2007), ribs engraved 'JOHN DICKSON & SON. 63. PRINCES STREET. EDINBURGH', with acanthus scroll detailing at the breech ends and gold-inlaid 'W1' and 'W2', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 1/2 choke, Dickson patent treble-grip round actions incorporating patents 9399 and 10621 of 1887, use numbers 1536 and 1537, toplevers carved with bold acanthus surrounding matted cartouches gold-inlaid 'W1' and 'W2', automatic safeties with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' details, the actions and furniture finely carved in relief with stylised scrolling acanthus and ribboned motifs, the makers name engraved in elaborate cartouches, retaining very slight traces of original colour-hardening, 15 3/8in. well-figured stocks, weight 6lb. 7oz., in their leather case with red baize lining, internal quilted protecting flap and gold-tooled trade label

Provenance: The makers have kindly confirmed that the guns were completed 30th August 1920 for a W.R. Broadhurst
