A 25-BORE FLINTLOCK DUELLING-PISTOL, no visible serial number,
circa 1795, with slightly swamped 9in. octagonal barrel, the breech inlet with an oval gold poincon signed 'HARCOURT, IPSWICH' and a further gold line, applied silver fore-sight, shallow standing notch rear-sight to the engraved top-tang, London proofs, the signed flat slightly curved bevel-edged lock with engraved starbursts to the stepped tail and behind the semi rain-proof pan, provision for safety behind the cock (missing), roller frizzen, walnut full-stock with strongly curved and chequered bag-shaped butt, carved pommel, set trigger, two barrel keys and brass-tipped ramrod
