A WAFFEN SS STYLE INFANTRY OFFICER'S SWORD, almost certainly adapted from a period Police sword, with straight blind fullered 29 1/2in. blade signed 'HERM RATH, SOLINGEN' and with the twin lightning bolt trademark, 'D'-shaped iron hilt and wire bound ribbed grip inlet with a probably later 'SS' device, complete with its black painted scabbard
