A RARE WORLD WAR II SOUTH AFRICAN POLICE SPEAR, circa 1940s, with 13 1/2 in. steel blade with 9 1/2 in. lathe-turned socket faintly marked with a Broad Arrow, mounted on a hard-wood shaft with a metal base-cap, swollen at the base and with a thumb-groove, these spears were made in the UK for issue to native police in South Africa
