A FRENCH INFANTRY SABRE BRIQUETTE, circa mid 19th Century, with 23 1/2 in. slightly curved single-edged steel blade with inspection mark towards top and further inspection mark on ricasso, one piece brass ribbed grip, guard and crossguard, single bar guard marked with inspection stamp, together with its black leather scabbard with brass fittings, blade with some staining and pitting towards the tip and hilt, scabbard with wear, stitching split, chape glued, 29 1/2 in. overall
