A JAPANESE WORLD WAR II TYPE 19 KYU GUNTO ARMY OFFICER'S SWORD, circa 1930s, with 30 1/2 in. nickel-steel single-edged slightly curved pipe-backed blade with clipped point, decorated brass hilt and guard, back-strap with chysanthemum ears, together with its black-painted steel scabbard with single suspension loop, blade clean, wear to the hilt and grip, paint loss and shallow denting to the scabbard, 37 1/4 in. overall
