A PATTERN 1796 INFANTRY OFFICER'S SWORD, circa 1800, with 32 1/4 in. single-edged steel blade, fullered on each side with traces of engraving, twin brass shell-guard, knuckle-guard and urn pommel, white metal wire grip, blade with cleaned pitting, guard quillion missing, grip wire with slippage, shell-guard misshapen and clip broken, 38 1/2 in. overall
