A PAIR OF LATE 18TH CENTURY FLINTLOCK BOXLOCK PISTOLS SIGNED COLLIS, no visible serial numbers, 1) 54-bore, with 2 1/2 in. turn-off barrel, border engraved lock decorated with stands of arms with 'COLLIS' to one side and 'OXFORD,' over, slab-sided wooden butt with blank oval white metal escutcheon, steel trigger-guard, Birmingham proof marks, action at fault, barrel frozen, top jaw and sliding safety missing, trigger-guard dented, grazing and losses to butt, barrel with significant cleaned pitting; 2) a composite, with a replaced, blued 20-bore 5 1/2 in. turn-off barrel, border engraved lock decorated with stands of arms with 'COLLIS' to one side and 'OXFORD,' over, slab-sided wooden butt, steel trigger-guard, London proof marks, actions correctly, no proof marks on barrel which is a replacement and frozen, heavy vice-mark scoring, presumably caused by failed attempts to free the barrel, 11 3/4 in. overall; also with raw castings of a frizzen and a jaw
