A CASED PAIR OF 54-BORE BOX-LOCK FLINTLOCK PISTOLS, SIGNED 'JOVER', no visible serial numbers, circa 1800, with 2 1/2 in. turn-off steel barrels, boarder-engraved box-locks with London proof marks, marked 'JOVER' to one side and 'LONDON' opposite, ring-necked hammers, sliding safeties, slab-sided wooden grips, engraved trigger-guards, worn, steel-work stained and with cleaned pitting, actions at fault, each 7 in. overall, together with an associated period case complete with key, containing flints, balls, and an unmarked embossed powder flask, case worn with a partition missing and a screw hole through the base, flask with broken spring, case approx. 9 1/2 in, X 7 in. X 2 in.
