Product Details

* A RARE AND INTERESTING 12.7 X 48R LOBNITZ PATENT BREECH-LOADING SINGLE SHOT SPORTING RIFLE CIRCA 1870, no visible serial number,
33 1/2 in. octagonal barrel with adjustable front-sight, tangent rear-sight of unusual type, the action is very interesting loosely and modeled on the American Peabody, only operated by a sidelever, rotating this lever pivots the breech block downwards and draws it back exposing the chamber for loading, the gun like the Peabody is fired by an external back-action lock, the rifle has a single set trigger, two piece stock of arctic birch, the stocking is rather crude and varnished over, an interesting and rare rifle for the collector of systems, I have never previously seen its like
