A .750 INDIA PATTERN BROWN BESS FLINTLOCK MUSKET BUILT UP FROM PARTS SIGNED MEMORY CIRCA 1791, serial no. 1181, 37 in sighted barrel which has been re-struck and stamped with spurious ordnance proofs at breech and also marked 'JPR / EXP 1181' Jaipur export markings indicating it was released from the Jaipur armoury in the 1970's or 80's, the barrel does not have a touch hole possibly welded up, the lock bears the East India Company quartered heart cypher dated 1791 the makers name 'MEMORY' engraved to the centre, fitted with a ring-neck cock, regulation brass figured full walnut stock with handrail wrist and high comb, this musket has been made up out of parts, the lock and barrel are old the stock and mounts new, the quality of the stocking is excellent almost perfect in all respects except they failed to fit a sideplate
