A .600 PERCUSSION MUSKET SIGNED TOWER AND DATED 1870, no visible serial number,
with 35 1/2ins. barrel with crude form of bolster, and stamped with various ordnance style proof and inspection marks at breech including "STEEL", block and blade front sight, fixed block vee rear-sight, the lock of Enfield P53 type stamped with a crown on the tail and "TOWER / 1870" to the centre, regulation brass mounted full walnut stock, three barrel bands of streamlined Baddeley pattern, complete with its jag headed steel rod, barrel to a grey patina worn overall. Made from surplus military parts for the Indian market.
