A SCARCE 16-BORE PINFIRE PATENT CLOCK BIRD-SCARING GUN, MODEL 'LIGHTWOOD'S PATENT', no visible serial number, circa 1900, with lift-off rectangular galvanised casing standing on iron bar feet, the mechanism comprised of 18 dropping weights held aloft in tubes by twine and in turn attached to a recumbent clockwork mechanism, the conventional hands replaced with a hooked hand releasing the twine at the pre-selected times allowing the weight to discharge one of 18 horizontally mounted pinfire blanks, clock apparently functioning.
