A PATTERN 1827 ROYAL NAVY OFFICER'S PIPE-BACKED SWORD, circa 1840, with 29in. pipe-backed and quill-tipped etched blade, brass hilt with folding inner guard, outer guard with queen's crown fouled anchor cypher, lion's head pommel, wire-bound fish-skin grip, remains of a period sword-knot, scabbard in semi-relic condition, blade stained and pitted, most of scabbard leather missing, brass mounts badly dented
