A PATTERN 1831 GENERAL AND STAFF OFFICER'S MAMELUKE SWORD, being a marriage of a quality 18th Century blade of possibly Wootz steel with a guilt Arabic signature and a mid-19th Century hilt, blade 32in., guilt fittings to hilt, with the inside strap engraved with what appears to be 'John Tause Esquire', blade rusted, stained and pitted, 37in. overall
