A GOOD PATTERN 1912 CAVALRY OFFICER'S SWORD,
circa 1914, with 35 1/4in. fullered blade with etched scroll-work and royal cyphers, brass proved plug to one side of ricasso and 'ROBt MOLE & SONS / MAKERS / BIRMINGHAM' to the other, numbered M8951 to blade back, brass lacquered bowl-guard with engraved scroll-work, pommel decorated with leaves in relief, upper part of grip grey fishskin bound with white metal wire, lower part black Bakelite, together with its brown leather 'field' scabbard, blade very clean with minimal wear, some lacquer rubbed from the guard exposing the underlying steel and some wear to the grip, some grazing to scabbard and tab missing, overall a well above average example, 44 1/2 in. overall
