A SCARCE 7mm PINFIRE PISTOL (& DAGGER) COMBINATION WALKING-STICK, UNSIGNED, serial no. 33, Spanish circa 1895, originally with plain approximately 12 1/2in. needle-point blade (now lacking) mounted near the muzzle of an octagonal 2 3/4in. barrelled in-line pistol mechanism (barrel with drilled vent for blank), the rear with side-hammer, swing-open breech and side button trigger, the pommel carved as the head of a hound with open jaws and fitted with glass eyes (one absent and small losses to lower jaw), catch at rear to lock it into the natural cane shaft with iron mounts, the neck with old gummed label stating 'SPANISH GUN STICK PURCHASED BY JNA IN SPAIN 1898'
