F.V. DREYSE (SOMMERDA) 16-BORE TOPLEVER HAMMERGUN, serial no. 33441, circa 1895, 30 1/4in. nitro reproved blacked damascus barrels with a band of gold at the breech end, the rib gold-inlaid 'F.V. DREYSE. SOMMERDA', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 3/4 choke in both, treble-grip action with carved percussion fences, rebounding back-action locks, scrolling foliate engraving set against a matt background surrounding scenes of hound and deer, the triggerguard with a capercaillie, blacked finish, 13 3/4in. stock (cracked and repaired at hand) with cheekpiece, sling swivels, including buttplate, weight 6lb. 9oz.
