A RARE PATTERN 1855 SWORD BAYONET FOR THE LANCASTER CARBINE, circa latter 19th Century, with 24in, pipe-backed blade ending in a quill-point, with Solingen inspection mark, W /I\ D and test-bend 'X' on ricasso with Birmingham re-issue inspection mark over, brass cross-guard and pommel, together with its black leather scabbard carrying 'W /I\ D' and Birmingham inspection marks, with brass fittings, stamped '319 / 4.96' on the throat, plus a white leather blancoed Slade Wallace frog, 29 1/2in. overall
