A PATTERN 1897 WORLD WAR I INFANTRY OFFICER'S SWORD
circa 1910-1920, with 22 1/2in. double-fullered stained blade etched with scroll-work, and 'GRV' crown and sun-burst plus initials 'C. F. S.' to one side, with inset brass proof-slug and 'WILKINSON / LONDON' on ricasso, hilt worn and rusted, with fish-skin grip bound with white wire (some losses), together with a worn field scabbard with separation at the chape, and 'Sam Browne' frog
