A BRONZED MEMORIAL STATUE OF A GERMAN GENERAL,
made by R. Bellair & Co. of Berlin, this finely cast early 20th century bronze figurine of German General Major Schmettau. The General Major in full uniform including his pickelhaube helmet, sword (damaged) and raised flag. The statue stands on a marble plinth, the front with a plaque inscribed , 'General Major Schmettau the Officer Corps No. 66, 19.11.1909 - 22.3.1912'. The statue has a stamp behind the soldiers right foot for the maker 'R. Bellair & Co. Of Berlin'. Measuring approx. 19 in. high
