TO ALL THOSE WHO FOUGHT, WORKED AND SUFFERED; AND PAID WITH THEIR LIVES TO BRING PEACE TO THE WORLD 50 YEARS AGO, AND TO ALL THOSE WHO DEFEND OUR PEACE TODAY, THIS BLADE IS GRATEFULLY DEDICATED' together with '1945-1995', the reverse with 'TO CELEBRATE FIFTY YEARS OF PEACE AND RECONCILIATION SINCE THE YEAR 1945 WHEN HOSTILITIES BETWEEN NATIONS FINALLY HALTED WITH THE ENDING OF WORLD WAR II' along with 'PEACE AND VIGILANCE' with a depiction of a shepherd with his dog and the manufacturer's trademark at the forte, carved and moulded gilt cross-guard in the form of an eagle with spread drooping wings, the wing-tips terminating in foliage and berries, smooth walnut grip swelling just below the centre, the end-piece with a shaped pommel carved with a world map, not supplied with a scabbard, complete with its red leatherette box with satin lined lid bearing the Wilkinson trademark, the tray lined in burgundy velvet, appearing unused
