LOEWE (BERLIN) 7.9mm (SMOOTH) 'GEW. 88' BOLT-MAGAZINE SERVICE RIFLE, serial no. 349Y, dated 1891, likely Turkish contract, 29 1/2in. smoothbored nitro barrel (reproved in 1973) with barrel shroud, bayonet lug, block-mounted blade fore-sight, tangent rear-sight calibrated from 5 to 20 (slightly bent), receiver ring marked 'LOEWE BERLIN 1891' and with a crescent, manual flag safety, 3/4 length stock (cracked at hand) with sling swivels, 13in. pull including steel buttplate, weight 8lb 12oz.
