A GOOD 10-BORE PERCUSSION SPORTING GUN BY THOMAS OF MERTHYR TYDFIL, CIRCA 1850, no visible serial number, with three stage 32 in rebrowned barrel, bead front-sight, and engraved at breech with a good Welsh name, 'THOS. THOMAS', the nipple bolster with vented platinum plug, bar action lock decorated with some foliate scroll engraving and with a gamebird scene to the centre, iron mounted figured walnut half-stocked with chequered wrist and forend, complete with probably original brass tipped loading rod, the gun has been refurbished to a high standard and looks good.
