A 12-BORE SINGLE BARREL PERCUSSION SPORTING GUN RETAILED BY KEEP BROTHERS OF LONDON, CIRCA 1860, serial no. 6387 with 32 in skelp twist barrel having some foliate engraved decoration at breech and 'KEEP BROTHERS / LONDON', on the nocksform, the bolster with platinum plug, bar-action lock with decorative border edging, and good quality foliate scroll engraving with the retailers name 'KEEP BROTHERS' below the bolster, the hammer engraved to match, good quality figured walnut stock, the butt with a noticeable drop tending to indicate it was made to special order, chequered wrist and fore-end (worn), fitted with foliate engraved iron mounts the trigger-guard bow engraved with a country scene featuring two pheasants, the wrist with inset escutcheon bearing the original owners initials, 'J. G. P', complete with original brass mounted ebonised loading rod, the under-rib starting to detach
