A 56-50 RIMFIRE SHARPS & HANKINS CAVALRY CARBINE, CIRCA 1863, serial no. 4063, with 19 in. barrel fore-sight missing and fitted with replacement leaf battle-sights, the action stamped on the right 'SHARPS & HANKINS PHILADA', and on the left 'SHARPS PATENT 1859' over a spurious 'U.S.', stamp, the action is fitted with a saddle ring, the walnut butt fitted with a brass butt-cap also spuriously stamped U.S.', the barrel has been shortened from 24 in.
