A 17 MM NORTH AMERICAN PLAINS INDIAN PERCUSSION TRADE GUN ADAPTED FROM A FRENCH MILITARY MUSKET, no visible serial number
Originally circa 1840's modified circa 1860's, with 29 in. barrel, the lock stamped 'MRE ST. ETIENNE', brass mounted full walnut stock, the barrel retained by two brass bands and a shrunken rawhide band, the butt decorated with brass studs in typical indian fashion, complete with old rawhide sling, worn and used overall, but an interesting piece of history, who knows what stories it could tell.
