AN UNUSUAL J. HANSON 1868-PATENT SLIDE-FORWARD UNDERLEVER HAMMERGUN, serial no. 816, 28 1/2in. replacement nitro reproved barrels, the tubes engraved 'BARRELS FITTED BY. F.W. LIGHTWOOD. BRIGG. GRIMSBY & MARKET RASEN.', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl. and full choke, action incorporating J. Hanson's patent No. 2657 of 26th August 1868, carved serpentine fences, non-rebounding locks with 'L' shaped hammers, the spurs of hare's ear form, linked strikers, cocking indicator studs, flat-fronted triggerguard, the front of which operates as a slide-forward underlever, beaded border engraving, 14in. stock with steel heel and toe plates, weight 6lb. 13oz.
