WILLIAM POWELL & SON 12-BORE POWELL PATENT BAR-IN-WOOD LIFT-UP TOPLEVER ROTATING SINGLE-BOLT SNAP-ACTION HAMMERGUN, serial no. 3888, converted from pin-fire, 30in. black powder only barrels (pitted and dented), the rib engraved 'WILLIAM POWELL & SON. 3888' (faint), 2 1/2in. chambers, action incorporating William Powell patent lift-up toplever patent no. 1163 of 7th May 1864, use number 412, carved percussion fences, bar-in-wood, non-rebounding sidelocks with c-scroll hammers, border and partial acanthus scroll engraving, brushed finish, 13 1/2in. stock including steel buttplate, weight 6lb. 6oz.
