A GOOD 16-BORE PERCUSSION SINGLE-BARRELLED SPORTING-RIFLE, serial no. 2107,
circa 1835, with octagonal browned twist 30 1/4in. barrel, blade fore-sight, drift adjustable standing notch rear-sight, colour hardened breech with two platinum lines and a vented plug, fully engraved top-tang, borderline engraved flat lock with panels of feathered scrollwork, engraved slab-sided dolphin-headed hammer, walnut half-stock chequered at the wrist, engraved iron furniture (some loss to engraved detail), raised finger-stop to lower tang, adjustable single set trigger, horn fore-end cap, two reinforced thimbles (one with eyelet for sling) and retaining its original mahogany heavy duty ramrod with brass tool end and horn pommel, overall length 46 3/4in., weight approximately 7 3/8lbs.
