circa 1845, with 5 1/2in. octagonal barrel, the top-flat signed 'BECKLEY, OXFORD', engraved band at muzzle, the barrel throat and to the leading edge of the plain cylinder, bead fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight, open iron frame with barrel wedge, scroll engraved non-reciprocating action with single-action top-hammer, guarded trigger and finely chequered walnut butt with engraved butt-cap and central trapdoor
