for 1928, 26in. nitro reproved barrels (in 1971, loose on action), the rib engraved 'G. E. LEWIS & SONS. 32 & 33 LOWER LOVEDAY ST. BIRMINGHAM' (rubbed), 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 1/2 choke, left wall thickness well below recommended minimum, treble-grip action, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, rounded bar, the fences carved in high relief with foliate designs on a matted background, acanthus scroll engraving surrounding game scene vignettes of hound and fowl, brushed bright and reblued finish overall, 14 5/8in. well-figured stock including 1in. rubber recoil pad, weight 6lb. 1oz., in a lightweight leather case with purple velvet lining (and would adapt to 30in. barrels)
