dated for 1872, with 36 1/2in. barrel (cleaned of finish around rear-sight), block and blade fore-sight, elevating ladder rear-sight, flip open breech marked 'SNIDER PATENT' and 'BSA Co', plain lock signed 'BSA Co', dated and with a 'V.R.' crown device, walnut full-stock, brass furniture, the lower tang with later added serial number, three iron barrel-bands and jag-ended clearing rod
