produced by one of the French arsenals circa 1877 (markings mostly erased), with round 32 1/2in. barrel, block and blade fore-sight, elevating ladder rear-sight, octagonal receiver with straight-handled bolt, large cocking piece to rear, walnut full-stock (some inlet repairs) and iron furniture, complete with a possibly original jag-ended clearing rod
