A GOOD 11mm (MAUSER) BOLT-ACTION REPEATING SPORTING-RIFLE, MODEL 'MAUSER M71/84', serial no. 46543,
dated for 1887, with blued and shortened 21in. barrel, dove-tailed blade fore-sight, elevating ladder rear-sight, the top-flat at breech signed 'AMBERG', rounded brushed bright receiver stamped with the model designation and the date, matching number bolt with turned-down handle, walnut three-quarter stock cut back to the first barrel-band and with blind finger-groove to the sides of fore-end, domed ebony diamonds inlet to sides of stock, below receiver, iron heel-plate, blued furniture, concealed three-quarter length under-barrel magazine, much apparent period finish remaining, all matching numbers, weight approximately 8lbs., overall length 40in.
