circa 1875, with 20 1/2in. tapering round barrel, pinched blade fore-sight, flip-over 'L' shaped rear-sight, slab-sided rolling-block action with external hammer, top-tang with maker's details and patents to 1875, walnut butt-stock with iron carbine-style heel-plate, saddle bar and ring to left side of receiver, walnut splinter fore-end held by a single barrel band, minimal traces of original finish
