A .750 PERCUSSION SHORT-MUSKET, MODEL 'PATTERN '39 SERGEANTS OF THE LINE CARBINE', no visible serial number,
circa 1840, with round 33in. barrel, block fore-sight at muzzle, no provision for rear-sight, ordnance stamps at breech (rubbed), solid top-tang, borderline engraved lock of flint form signed 'ENFIELD' below a crown and 'V.R.' device, walnut full-stock, the right side of butt stamped with a rounded marked 'R.M.' (spaced with a crown) and 'ENFIELD', the centre with an illegible date, brass furniture, iron stirrup swivels, Lovell's bayonet catch and iron ramrod with flared tip
