dated for 1863, with blued Whitworth rifled 33in. barrel, the top behind rear-sight marked 'WHITWORTH PATENT', block and blade fore-sight, elevating ladder rear-sight, chained protector for nipple, plain colour hardened lock signed 'ENFIELD' together with the date, a 'V.R.' crown device at tail, blued iron furniture, iron swivels and correct brass-tipped ramrod, much finish throughout
