A FINE, GRIFNEE-ENGRAVED 7X57R ROYAL 'MODEL DE LUXE' SIDELOCK EJECTOR DOUBLE RIFLE, serial no. 35607,
24in. nitro chopperlump barrels, matted sight rib engraved with the calibre designation, with open sights marked 50 and 200YDS with gold-inlaid sight line and folding leaf sight marked '350 YDS', ramp-mounted bead fore-sight with fold over protector / moonsight, the breech end mounted with a Swarovski 1,25-4x24 Habicht telescopic sight, serial no. P700387802, in quickly detachable mounts, the rings engraved 'HOLLAND & HOLLAND' and '35607', the tubes engraved 'HOLLAND & HOLLAND 33, BRUTON STREET, LONDON.', the rib engraved in script 'Mode de Luxe', bolstered treble-grip action with hidden third bite, removable striker discs, elongated top tang with automatic safety and gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, gold-inlaid cocking-indicators, triggers set for the left hand, the front articulated and chequered, the action, lockplates and furniture finely carved in high relief with scrolling acanthus and foliate motifs on a finely matted background, the left lockplate with a woodland scene of a wild boar, the right with a barking stag, the underside with a further wild boar, the triggerplate signed 'Ph. Grifnee', the triggerguard tang gold-inlaid with the serial number, 15 1/4in. highly-figured pistolgrip stock with right side cheekpiece, engraved steel pistolgrip-cap (with trap), sling swivels and including 1/2in. leather covered recoil pad, weight 9lb. 2oz. (unscoped) and 10lb. 11oz. (with scope), in an alloy flight case.
