A SCARCE .303 LEVER-ACTION REPEATING CARBINE, MODEL '1895 CARBINE', serial no. 66486,
for 1912, with blued 22in. barrel, small ramp fore-sight, elevating ladder rear-sight, blued receiver signed by the maker and marked with patent dates to August 1907, saddle ring fitted to left hand side, top-tang marked 'MODEL 1895 WINCHESTER TRADE MARK REG. IN U.S. PAT. OFF.', walnut butt-stock with chequered iron 'shotgun' heel-plate, split finger-lever, integral box magazine and walnut half fore-end with broad finger-groove down each side, iron barrel-band and walnut top-cover surrounding the rear-sight, the whole retaining much original finish throughout
