A CASED 180-BORE PERCUSSION POCKET PEPPERBOX REVOLVER, no visible serial number,
circa 1845, with fully fluted six-shot 2in. barrel group, carved false side-ribs with Birmingham proofs, moulded iron nipple shield, rounded scroll engraved boxlock action with top mounted bar hammer and signed on the left hand side in a banner 'BENTLEY, WHITEHAVEN', sliding safe to the top-tang, guarded trigger and finely chequered walnut grip with moulded and engraved iron butt-cap, complete with a slightly later English market oak pistol case with eight-screw lid, relined and compartmented in green baize and containing a scissors mould, a small ebony cleaning rod, a pewter oil bottle and a small reproduction flask, complete with case key
